We are currently looking for a Compute Operations Engineer for our Client:
Start: asap
Duration: 31.12.2024 with option to extend
Capacity: 100%
Location: 75% remote, 25% Berlin
Language: English (must), German (nice to have)
Tasks:
Operation of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu):
Customization/maintenance of the Linux environment according to the documentation using the existing scripts
Following the structured process through the landscape (Dev/Test/QA/Prod)
Skills:
MUST HAVES:
o Knowledge of the Linux lifecycle (installation, maintenance, decommissioning)
o Knowledge of patching operating systems
o Knowledge of Linux user management
– Knowledge of Linux monitoring / observability parameters to ensure operation
– Linux log file evaluation for incident and problem management
– Linux system analysis for incident and problem management
– Linux administration / automation
o Automation integration with Ansible
o Use of DevOps and system management tools.
o Knowledge of Linux security and hardening
– Experience with incident and problem management process requirements.
– Understanding of operational requirements and translating them into operations setup activities.
– Experience using Jira, Confluence and/or Miro.
– Very good English language skills
NICE TO HAVE:
– Experience operating HPE or Dell compute hardware, operating NetApp storage, or operating virtualized environments (VMware or KVM) is considered beneficial to combine multiple work packages and successfully optimize work within the target environment
– Experience leading an operations team
– Other preferred skills: LDAP, OAUTH, PKI certificates, HashiCorp Vault and Packer, CIS-Hardeni
