1 Project description
The Engineering Expertise Secondary Systems Department is responsible for drafting the standards that will be used in the customer’s infrastructure projects. These are standards on the electrical equipment for the protection system, control system, automation and measurements of the high-voltage installations of the power grid.
The Designer Specialist Expertise Secondary Systems is responsible for:
• Ensures the verification of the standard plans/designs (“typicals”) of the suppliers.
• If necessary, participation in plant delivery tests of electrical equipment.
• Drawing out symbols in Autocad based on suppliers’ plans/designs.
• Preparing and/or checking standard plans (protection block diagrams and detailed principle dia-grams) based on concept notes, standards, approved equipment, methodologies and guidelines for application in investment projects .
• Managing his own schedule according to priorities and deliverables.
• Be responsible for adapting and updating all standards/tools using macros/VBA in Excel (entire domain of secondary systems).

2 Profile requirements
• Graduate/bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electricity, electronics or automation.
• A good working knowledge of Autocad.
• A knowledge of Windows Office applications.
• Command of Dutch and/or French perfect, good knowledge of the 2nd national language as well as a good knowledge of English – given the many contacts with international suppliers.
• Willing to learn a profession that will eventually require a high and specific level of expertise.
• Fluent assertive communicator who is customer-oriented, values team spirit and is resourceful.
• Flexible and assertive.
• Independent, organized and proactive, taking responsibility for the result to be achieved.
• Focus on quality, works accurately and precisely.
• Sense and interest in new technologies in an environment that is rapidly evolving for the challenges of the future
• Occasional short trips abroad to attend FATs.
