Role – Network Engineer
Location – Dorsten, Germany (Hybrid – 2 days/week)

Job description
The primary role of this position is to identify, confirm, and collate details needed to complete a detailed network design and prepare to integrate existing Industrial Operational Technology or Process Control Network systems into a standard architecture
General requirements of position:
• Travel maybe required to industrial plant sites.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including steel-toed shoes, hearing, eye and hardhat protection.
• Physical Activity, including walking up stairs, over obstacles and lifting moderate weights.
• Explicit hands-on network management experience and familiarity with both copper and fiber media and associated transceivers with an emphasis on Cisco hardware.
• Explicit hands-on network management experience with specialized IT technology experience in installation, upgrade, troubleshooting, and tuning of Cisco switches and connecting infrastructure pertaining to IT-OT Foundational Infrastructure and IT-OT Services.
The primary responsibility includes:
• Tracing and documentation of fiber
• Liaison with other teams to coordinate, implement, and support network changes
Collaborate with other IT technical teams to ensure continuity of services, issue resolution, and integrated solutions
• Isolate, diagnose and resolve network problems individually and through coordination with others
• Maintain system access and security in order to safeguard company data.
Qualifications:
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline (BSEE, BSCS, BSET) with a minimum of 5 years of job related experience. Desire but do not require Cisco Certifications, ex. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with networking architecture.
• Must possess high technical and communication skills.
• Must understand how to cable, power and configure Cisco switches, UPS, PDU, and other network hardware.
• Must pass TWIC card access restrictions
• Requires wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including steel-toed shoes, arm covering (long sleeves or coveralls), hearing, eye, and hardhat protection.
• Must be able to lift and mount/unmount switches and other IT hardware that weigh up to 25-30 pounds.
• Must be able to walk distances, climb stairs and ladders.
• Good understanding network design and security practices.
• Good understanding of Operational Technology practices- including firewalls and the Perdue model for industrial controls.
• Good understanding on passive infrastructure including cabling, racks, power management and cooling.
• Desired to have experience with network data collection tools including Wireshark and SolarWinds products.
