Lead OS Engineer Infrastructure (m/f/d)

Your Skills
– Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)
– o Detailed knowledge about the Linux lifecycle (install, maintain, de-commission)
– o Installation of new operating system on new and existing hardware
– o Patching of operating systems
– o Linux user management
– o Integration into observability
– Linux management – administration / automation
– o Automation integration with Ansible o Installation, and configuration of DevOps and system management tools.
– o Ability to develop new operating systems standards (golden image), maintenance of golden images
– o Linux security and hardening
– Deep experience in at least two of the following tools:
– o Ansible Automation Platform, RedHat Satellite Server and RedHat Identity Management System (IPA)
– Experience to use Jira, Confluence and Miro
Your Tasks
– Successful Operating System Engineering: The Lead Engineer has the knowledge to transfers the designs into the target environment. Together with his team, he tests and documents the environment accordingly.
– Continuous Improvement and Adaptation: The Lead Engineer actively validates the status of the environment in his responsibility and ensures to keep the configuration up to date. He actively informs his team lead and the architects about required patches and configuration adjustments. He further reports observations in case configuration do not deliver the required security standards.
– Effective Collaboration and Communication: The Lead Engineer does have the capability to explain technical requirements properly. He has an open mindset to collaborate within technical alignments.
– Self-Organization: The Lead Engineer has the capability to organize the work handed over according to prioritization and complexity. He tracks the status and reports actively risks, issues and expected delays. In case further information is required, he will actively investigate to find the relevant contact and start resolving the issue aligned with the compute lead architect.
– Integration into processes: The Lead Engineer follows the designed processes to achieve successful work and collaboration as well as detailed documentation.
