On behalf of our client, a company in the financial sector, we are filling the following position in the Frankfurt area:
Detailed description:
• Design battery algorithms, including state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH), using a framework made of control-oriented models (equivalent circuit, electrochemical, thermal, aging),
lookup tables and calibration methodologies to improve redox-flow battery performance.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink to develop and generate C/C++ code for battery algorithms.
• Be responsible for extracting and developing data and parameters (cell data, algorithm parameters, etc.) required by the algorithm.
• Write software and unit requirements.
• Test the algorithms using MIL, SIL and PIL techniques.
• Develop customized test protocols to characterize and validate the models and algorithms. Collaborate with the testing team to execute these validation plans.
• Analyze large volumes of test data to analyze the performance of the algorithms. Propose design improvements to address the issues and report the results.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cell chemistry, hardware, software and testing to ensure a seamless integration of the algorithms.
Qualifications: must have:
• Expertise in Model Based Development, with Matlab/Simulink, for embedded applications.
• Expertise in Matlab/Simulink for modeling, simulation and skript writing.
• Experience with programming languages C or C++ for real-time applications
• Debugging skills to tackle challenging problems.
• Data analysis skills and skills in writing efficient scripts, to analyze large data sets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Self-starter and comfortable working in a fast paced (dynamic) environment.
• Ability to articulate design issues and path to resolution both verbally and with documentation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
Qualifications: (very) nice to have:
• Understanding of detailed battery electrochemistry (redox flow or Li-ion or iron-air, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience in controls oriented battery models (e.g. equivalent circuit models, reduced order physics-based models such as Single Particle Model, thermal models) and control algorithms, is a plus.
• Experience in developing online model parameter tracking algorithms is a plus.
• Experience with battery testing and data analysis is a plus.
• Experience with one of the following industry standards is a plus: ISO26262, IEC 61508, DO-178C or ASPICE development process.
